This is a diagnostic test that is often preferred over spending the night in a sleep lab. A small device worn overnight in the comfort of your own bed provides adequate data for some people that are believed to have obstructive sleep apnea. A patient wears the small recorder on a belt around the chest with a nasal cannula to monitor breathing and a finger probe (pulse oximeter) to monitor blood oxygen level and heart rate. This diagnostic test requires an order from a medical provider.
